Why "Digital Formwork"?

The "Digital" part of Digital Formwork refers to the technology involved in today's construction industry.  Over the past 30 years, we've seen the construction industry go from paper drawings that had to be physically drawn by hand, reproduced and mailed or hand delivered to the construction office or jobsite.  If a change needed to be made, the drawn out process of going from drawing board to jobsite was repeated.  Revising a drawing by hand sometimes meant totally re-drawing the page or pages.

With the advent of email, pdf files and CAD drawings, this process was shortened drastically.  We are now able to produce formwork drawings in less time and with greater accuracy.  What one once took hours of calculations can now be done with a few clicks and commands in AutoCAD.  Changing a drawing and sending it to the client can happen in minutes, not days.
